If you know Southampton well – you may never really notice the Station signage. Things may be a little tricky if you are a visitor. The arrival and departure from a great sea city like Southampton surely needs a bit of a signage upgrade. I am no typographer and this is a specialist area – but I can’t resist an opportunity –

I found your blog when looking for information about the station quarter project and civil spending n regeneration. I don’t know if you are still in the area of if you are aware of what it’s like to pass through the area some months after work has been completed.
I really like the work that has been done in the area and enjoyed it up till the CO-OP installed sound pollution to deter homeless people sitting next to their shop.
The music is designed to be intrusive and to deter people from lingering in the area. There are obviously things that are very wrong at lots of different levels. Besides the political irony of spending est 10m on public work that private business can openly devalue by attacking a section of our population.
On a personal level, being a rail commuter the daily exposure of this sound pollution is actually quite aggravating.
Obviously this is not a comment on your work, I just thought that you might want to know that it has been vandalised
